14.1. Opening a Series in the "Dentistry" Tab

Series used for viewing in the Dentistry tab must meet the following criteria: series modality: CT; the series contains more than two slices; the distance between slices is not zero; the images have the following tag values: SamplesPerPixel = 1, BitsAllocated = 8 or 16.

To open a series in the Dentistry tab, follow these steps:

1. Load a study into the DICOM Viewer.

2. On the series panel, select a series that meets the requirements for opening in the tab.

3. Click the Dental Imaging & Planning add-on  button on the toolbar. To select the desired tab placement (in the current window, in a separate window, or in full-screen mode), click the arrow on the button. To open the study in a new tab in the current window, click the button. The process may take some time.

The Dentistry tool is also available in the View section of the main menu.

The left side of the tab (Fig. 14.1) contains the windows defined by the plane layout template. The implant planning panel is located on the right side.

By default, the tab opens with the window layout template selected in the module settings. If the user has not changed the default template, the predefined dentistry module template is used. Window layout configuration in the Dentistry tab is described in Section 14.3.
