Export allows you to save a custom hanging protocol to a separate DICOM file. During export, the DICOM Viewer copies the DICOM file of the selected custom protocol to the folder specified by the user.
To export a custom hanging protocol, select it in the table and click the Export to DICOM
button. In the dialog box that opens, select the folder for saving the file. By default, the
destination folder is the user home folder, and the file name — is the UID of the selected hanging
protocol.
| Exporting built-in presets to a DICOM file is unavailable. To export a protocol based on a preset, first create a custom copy of the preset, then export the created copy. |
Import allows you to add a hanging protocol from a DICOM file on disk to the storage. To
import a protocol, click the Import from DICOM
button and select the file. After
successful import, the protocol is added to the hanging protocol table and is active by
default.
The imported file must contain a valid DICOM hanging protocol object. If the file cannot be read as a hanging protocol or its structure does not comply with the DICOM standard, import is not performed and an error message is displayed.
After import, the protocol is stored in the storage directory of the DICOM Viewer. If necessary, you can disable the imported protocol in the protocol table to exclude it from automatic layout selection without deleting it from the storage.
| Importing a protocol does not change built-in presets. The imported protocol is added as a separate hanging protocol. |
